Sally did not graduate with our
class but I wanted to put her in our
remembrance section so if anyone
knew her in school they would
know of her recent death.  Nancy
Lapin, SHS Class of 1965,  knew
her and  wanted us to know what
Sally meant to her.
Sarah "Sally" Lang
I'm sure we all had friends at SHS who were Juniors when we were Seniors
and were also in some of our classes. We may have lost touch with them over
the years.  We may have been fortunate enough to remain friends with them
all these years.  We may have been blessed with the opportunity to
"re-connect" with them at a significant time in our life. One such "Junior
Classmate" of mine (and possibly yours?) is Sarah Lang Knight (known at SHS
as "Sally Lang - Class of 1966").  Sally passed away on August 16th after a
very brave battle with a rare and horrific form of neuro-endrocine cancer.
She was a month away from her 63rd birthday.  I am so very honored and
proud that she was and will always be my "Forever Friend".  At every
opportunity during her last months here, I would tell her how very, very much
I admired her - her compassion, her bravery and her love that replaced
bitterness -  and how very proud of her I was.
In her last conversation with me, she told me, "Well, Nancy, we are both
proud of each other, You are proud of the way I am dying and I am proud of
the way you are living."  That is just a tiny glimpse into the heart of
Sally/Sarah.
One of my last promises to her was to let as many of our SHS classmates, as I
could,  know when she passed and also to ask them to keep her family (her
son, her daughter and son-in-law, and 4 grandchildren  - who are going
through some tough times right now), in our thoughts and prayers . I would
appreciate it if you could do that for her.   So with this email, I am fulfilling
one of my promises to her.

If any of you who knew Sally (she mentioned that she was still in touch with a
few classmates - but I don't know who they are) would like to contact me
regarding the memorial, etc. my email address is:

Thank you and take care,
